Woman magazine, have recently run their own version of Ian Sample’s Guardian Article about Carol Weihrer (11th April 2005).

Also in April, Sally was asked to take part in the ‘Big Bite’, a TV programme on RTE 1 in Dublin, to talk about her experience and the start of the Anaesthesia Awareness Network (UK & Ireland). She and Prof. Michael Wang (Hull Medical School) were interviewed by David McWilliam.

Prof. Wang has developed, with anaestheologist Ian Russell, the isolated forearm technique which is an effective (and economical!) way to give patients the power to communicate to doctors if they are experiencing awareness – yet it is still not in common use!

As a Clinical Psychologist, Michael has spent over 15 years working with patients who have undergone awareness, and last year organised a major conference on the subject at Hull University. Michael has agreed to act as adviser to the Network.
